NMSA Awards
NMSA Person of the Year Award
NMSA’s Annual Person of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has (1) provided leadership that has resulted in awareness of, and improvements in, the safety and health of individuals in the maritime industry and/or (2) worked with representatives of organized labor and employers to improve occupational safety and health in marine cargo handling operations.
The individual may be recognized for a specific activity or contributions over a period of time. Nominees may include industry leaders and/or government officials. Nominations may be made by any NMSA member. Only one Person of the Year Award may be made in any given year, and it does not have to be awarded every year.
NMSA Safety Innovation Award
NMSA’s Annual Safety Innovation Award recognizes an organization or individual who has made a recent, significant and innovative contribution to aid, advance, assist, encourage, promote and support occupational safety and health in marine cargo handling operations. Nominations may be made by any NMSA member. More than one Safety Innovation Award may be made each year.
